Piyalli/Hello Community!! I'm thrilled to be sharing with you guys what I've cultivated and learned through the years working with the Ximalhuehuetl aka Hand Drum also known by other names like the Shamans drum, Journey Drum, and Medicine Drum.
(Ximalhuehuetl is the traditional name in the Nahuatl language)
The Hand Drum represents a lot of good things in the native cosmovision one thing the drum represents in most cultures is the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Also, we know instinctively the sound of the drum this is because when we were in our mother's womb for 9 months we heard her heartbeat.
